In Pacifiqua’s Spark method, “modes” are the different ways you can run the same momentum-building system depending on your energy, time, and motivation level. Instead of forcing one perfect routine every day, Spark gives you a few flexible settings so you can keep moving forward even when you’re depleted, distracted, or short on time.
Think of Spark modes as a dial: you turn it up on high-capacity days and turn it down on low-capacity days—without abandoning your goals.
Spark modes help reduce the all-or-nothing trap. When motivation drops, a smaller, clearly defined mode makes it easier to start, and starting is often the hardest part. Each mode should still feel like a real “win,” just scaled to match your current bandwidth.
Full Spark mode: Your standard, ideal version of the routine when you have time and decent energy. This is where you do the complete checklist and get the biggest progress for the day.
Lite mode: A shortened version that keeps the core actions but trims extras. The goal is meaningful progress without requiring a long setup, perfect focus, or extended time.
Minimum mode: The smallest “non-zero” version—designed for low-motivation days. It’s intentionally quick and easy to begin, so you stay consistent and protect your streak of follow-through.
Recovery mode: A gentle reset setting used when you’re overwhelmed or burned out. It prioritizes stabilization (basic priorities, cleanup, or planning) so tomorrow is easier.
Pick the mode that you can complete even if your day gets messier than expected. If you’re unsure, choose the smallest mode you’ll actually finish—consistency beats intensity when motivation is low.
For a simple, practical way to decide quickly, use the checklist in Pacifiqua’s guide to Spark Mode.
Use Lite mode when you can sustain focus for a short block of time; use Minimum mode when starting feels hard or your schedule is unpredictable. If you’re wavering, Minimum mode is usually the safer choice because it’s easier to finish.
